Joukeian is located In Kyoto, near the Sennyji temple

Tofukuji station is located 1 stop away from JR Kyoto, and 3 stops from Gion/Shijo station.
When you leave Toufukuji station turn left at convenience store and turn right after the post office.
Go straight, cross the big street called Higashi Oji Dori and walk uphill on Sennyuji-michi road.
You’ll see a police box on the left.
Keep going straight and you’ll see the first big temple gate for Senyuji. Go through it, this is the private road of Sennyuji. Go straight and turn right at the first street in front of a school playground, and turn right again after the red post box.
By Taxi
Joukeian is 15 minutes by taxi from Kyoto station and about 5 minutes from Toufukuji station.
Ask the driver to ride into the grounds of the Sennyuji temple. You’ll see the first big temple gate for Sennyuji.
Go through it, this is the private road of Sennyuji. Get out of the taxi in front of the Kaikoji temple of branch of Sennyuji temple. You must walk from here a couple of minutes to Joukeian, this road is too narrow for the taxi to exit safely.
